In 2018, the Mayo Clinic took a deep dive into the life of executives and found that executives sleep less, work more hours, struggle with work-life balance, travel frequently and often lead sedentary lifestyles. The list is no surprise since both startup and long-standing executives seem to both accept these damaging realities and wear the fallout like a badge of honor. But when 73% of CEOs live a sedentary lifestyle and most work more hours and sleep fewer hours than the average worker, it’s time to take a closer look at the risks.
